How to Spend a Week on the Beach
Ian and I are great travel partners for many reasons, one of which being the way in which we travel: cram as much as we can into every trip. On last year's February trip, we spent the week driving around and exploring every inch of a 110 mile island (Puerto Rico). This year, however, our February trip was spent like this:
Hang out on balcony... Hang out on beach. |
Balcony Beach. |
Yup, on the balcony.
And again on the beach.
View from the balcony...why would we leave?
Only to go down to the beach.
Sunset from....you guessed it...the balcony!
So, although there aren't any crazy stories or adventures to report, we enjoyed the sun, sand, and relaxation to its fullest! Sometimes those are the best vacations of all!

2011 brings with it many chances for Ian and Amy to get splashy in nearer destinations, elevating fun to maximum levels while reducing savings accounts to their minimums. Among the planned highlights (pics to be posted as they become available):
- January: New Years in Montreal, Quebec.
"Le 'stache" becomes French for "how to have a good time in 2011."
- January: Bachelor Party in Austin, Texas. To celebrate Zach's upcoming nuptuals, Ian and Mike and Zach's friends rent a room and try to act classy.
- February: Spring Break in Castara, Tobago. Amy and Ian get some beach action and alternate between papayas and rum.
- March: Zach and Jenna get married in New Orleans. No pre-description needed - stock the Abitas and "bon temps."
- April: Sam and Pete get married in Las Vegas. Caesar's Palace. This unforgettable wedding will surely be accompanied by many fuzzy memories.
- June: Jackson and Kristin, Ian's college friends, get married in Los Angeles. Reverend Ian makes his debut.
- June: Amy heads to Chillicothe to visit her dad and to attend the Easterday Family Reunion. O-H!
- July: Amy and Ian head west to Oregon. Amy will get introduced to Ian's old friend, La Grande. Other adventures promised.
- August: Ian's family reunion in Maryland. We get to see the Scheiber/Spangler/etc. crowd Ian tries to come up with an answer to Amy's repeated question: "why am I at your family reunion when you didn't come to mine?!?"
- October: Matt and Jenny get married in Lancaster, Ohio. More suits and ties and dresses and Ian finally answers Amy's question about the family reunions.
- Post-October 2011: To be determined. That's half the fun!
