So I know this isn't Craigslist, but four countries in four weeks = a lot of travel time. With ipods, books, and travel guides, it goes by rather quickly and we've planned it so that all of our long-hauls are overnight trips (on uncomfortable buses or trains). While we're rather savvy travelers (savvy travs, if I do say so myself), we do get fatigued and annoyed by other people on our trip. Here are a shout out to the people/travel experiences we could do without:
VIP bus service from Krabi to Bangkok (13 hrs): Oh no sir, your service is not VIP. Your pink curtains scream 1970 and your shabby seats and less than stellar air-conditioning make me sweat. Furthermore, VIP bus service, why are you torturing me by showing Jackass 2 on the bus?? Yes, I'll admit I'm an American, but I do not enjoy watching people throw up and slide down hills on ice blocks for 2 hours. While the second movie, Full Moon Eclipse, was a bit better, your Thai-English translations were WAY off and the pirated version was a little fuzzy. I think you can do better.
Annoying British girls: Virginia, Virginia. Tsk, tsk. Why are you coming home at 5 am in the morning and waking up the whole hotel by screaming your sleeping roommate's name? We all like a good party, but have some class girl. And keep in mind we are inside the hotel room next to you, trying to sleep as most people do at 5am.
Annoying British Girls part II: More of you, really? While on a oh-so-rough at sea trip from Phi Phi to Krabi, my churning stomach and green face could've done without your screaming at every wave we passed. And did you really have to come sit right next to me with your barf bag when the ceiling started leaking? Don't give me a lecture on manners, please. You have the loudest mouth on the boat.
But then there are a few who do make our travels even better:
